Cloud Security Engineer (DevOps)- Active Clearance is required

You’ll be the engineer who makes sure cutting-edge cloud infrastructure isn’t just fast and scalable – it’s locked down, monitored, and mission-ready.

In this role, you own multiple security applications and services in a modern CI/CD environment, integrating security requirements directly into common infrastructure designs and enterprise services.

You’re not bolting security on at the end. You’re building it in from day one.

Working alongside Information Assurance and DevOps teams, you’ll turn security into code, metrics, and automation that actually work in production. If you live at the intersection of cloud, DevOps, and security – and you hold an active clearance – we want to talk to you.

You’ll focus on security engineering inside a modern cloud and DevOps ecosystem:

• Cloud-based security applications and services
• Enterprise common infrastructure and shared services
• CI/CD-driven environments and automated pipelines
• Security tooling configuration, tuning, and monitoring
• Log aggregation, alerting, and security metrics
• Configuration and vulnerability management for production apps
• Custom application and code security support

You’ll work with technologies like Terraform and Kubernetes (or equivalents), open-source tools, cloud services, and CI/CD platforms.

Your challenge: make a complex cloud environment continuously deployable and continuously secure.

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining multiple security applications and services in a cloud-based environment
• Operating within CI/CD practices to embed security into release and deployment workflows
• Troubleshooting and resolving network, pipeline, and infrastructure issues related to security services
• Building, maintaining, and monitoring configuration of security tools
• Developing effective security monitoring, alerting, and metrics from log aggregators and data collectors
• Acting as a collaborative conduit between security-focused and development-focused teams
• Providing configuration management support for production applications and custom code
• Delivering vulnerability management support across applications and infrastructure
• Learning and applying a wide variety of open-source technologies to solve security problems
• Supporting automation around security tooling and cloud security controls
• Contributing to secure infrastructure design across the enterprise
• Providing some on-call or after-hours onsite support in a secure environment as needed for the customer’s mission

• U.S. citizen with an existing SECRET security clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI with CI Polygraph
• CompTIA Security+ or other DoDD 8140 certification
• 5 years of DevOps, software, or infrastructure engineering experience and a Bachelor’s degree (or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree)
• Cloud service experience
• Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes (K8S) or equivalent technologies
• Ability to quickly learn and use a wide variety of open-source technologies
• Willingness to work 90% or as needed in a secure environment
• Willingness to provide some on-call or after-hours onsite support

You’ve been the security-minded DevOps engineer (or the DevOps-minded security engineer) in a cloud environment, building automation around monitoring, compliance, and vulnerability detection. You know how to take logs, metrics, and tools and turn them into actionable security posture, not just dashboards.

If you’ve touched CI/CD (like Jenkins), scripted in Python or Java, and automated the deployment and care-and-feeding of security tools across monitoring, intrusion detection/prevention, change detection, code analysis, and more, you’ll stand out fast.

This is not a back-office security role – you’re in the core of the DevOps pipeline, shaping how an enterprise builds and runs secure systems in the cloud.

You’ll have real ownership over security services and infrastructure patterns, with direct impact on high-visibility, mission-driven work.

And you’ll grow on both tracks – sharpening your DevOps engineering skills while deepening your information security expertise inside a highly collaborative team.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Must hold an existing SECRET security clearance and be able to obtain TS/SCI access with Counterintelligence Polygraph.

Must hold CompTIA Security+ or other DoDD 8140 certification.

Must be willing to work 90% or as needed in a secure environment, with some on-call or after-hours onsite support.

Role is based in Colorado (Westminster or Longmont).
