Equipment Engineering Technician

Position Overview

The Equipment Engineering Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and upgrading manufacturing equipment to ensure maximum uptime and production efficiency. This position works closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to support manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair machinery malfunctions.
• Clean and lubricate equipment regularly.
• Escalate major repair issues when necessary.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.

Calibration & Testing

• Calibrate and test equipment to maintain production accuracy and reliability.
• Maintain calibration records and schedules.
• Read and understand equipment operation and maintenance manuals.

Troubleshooting

• Diagnose technical and mechanical issues using appropriate tools and procedures.
• Work alongside engineers and technical teams to resolve complex equipment problems.
• Support audits, program reviews, surveys, and system evaluations.

Equipment Upgrades

• Assist with installation, modification, and upgrades of manufacturing equipment.
• Follow engineering specifications and technical guidelines.

Inventory Management

• Manage spare parts inventory.
• Track and order replacement parts as needed.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in safety training and promote a strong safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate Degree or Technical Certification preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience as an Equipment Engineering Technician or similar role.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of calibration processes and precision measuring tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and preventative maintenance programs.
• Bilingual English/Chinese preferred.
