Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation and submission of grant and contract applications, ensuring each package meets sponsor instructions and institutional standards before final approval.
• Build proposal budgets and assemble all required supporting materials for both prime awards and subawards across a range of funding programs.
• Oversee award setup and subsequent updates, maintaining accurate records and ensuring grant data is properly reflected in administrative systems.
• Interpret and communicate award provisions, including reporting expectations, effort commitments, deliverables, and potential overlap with existing funded work.
• Manage receivables and unbilled balances across the research administration portfolio, following up on aging items to support timely resolution.
• Produce and maintain budget-to-actual reporting for principal investigators, giving clear visibility into available funding and spending trends.
• Review grant expenditures on a regular basis, refresh financial projections monthly, and deliver consistent portfolio reporting to stakeholders.
• Partner with investigators to forecast spending, refine budget assumptions, and support ongoing financial planning throughout the life of each award.
• 7+ years of experience in grants administration, including both pre-award and post-award responsibilities.
• Demonstrated expertise managing government, foundation, federal, and private grant funding.
• Strong background in grant proposal coordination, grant writing support, and sponsor guideline compliance.
• Proven ability to develop and administer budgets, monitor expenses, and analyze portfolio-level financial activity.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting, forecasting, and financial tracking.
• Experience maintaining grant records, award documentation, and portfolio administration processes with a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with principal investigators, internal stakeholders, and external sponsors.
