STAINLESS STEEL WELDER

A well-established industrial fabrication company in Northeast Louisiana is seeking an experienced Stainless Steel Welder to support specialty fabrication work involving stainless steel and other high-alloy materials. This position is best suited for a welder who is comfortable working from drawings and weld symbols in a custom industrial shop environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on stainless steel and other high-alloy materials.
• Read and interpret weld symbols, fabrication drawings, engineering plans and shop instructions.
• Verify dimensions, material thicknesses and fit-up requirements before and during welding.
• Produce quality welds that meet project specifications and customer requirements.
• Work closely with fitters, fabricators and other shop personnel to complete custom fabrication projects.
• Identify fabrication, fit-up or material issues and communicate them before they affect production.
• Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow established quality and safety procedures.
• Handle materials and perform the physical activities normally associated with industrial fabrication work.
• Assist with other shop-production responsibilities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 2 years of stainless steel or high-alloy welding experience.
• Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding processes.
• Ability to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings.
• Previous experience in a metal fabrication shop.
• Ability to accurately check dimensions and material thicknesses.
• Strong attention to workmanship, quality and production pace.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a shop team.
• Valid driver's license or state-issued identification.
• Ability to satisfy applicable pre-employment screening requirements.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

• Experience with custom industrial fabrication for pulp and paper, chemical processing, manufacturing, industrial maintenance or similar industries.
• Experience welding components used in industrial equipment, piping or process systems.

  COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• $20-$30 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
