Mount Zion Health and Rehab Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse who is passionate about clinical excellence, staff development, regulatory compliance, and providing exceptional resident care in a skilled nursing environment.

As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you will work closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee nursing operations, support clinical staff, and ensure the highest standards of care are maintained throughout the facility.

Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Department. This position helps ensure compliance with all applicable regulations while promoting quality resident care and supporting nursing staff.

Assistant Director of Nursing Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in overseeing daily nursing operations

• Ensure nursing services are provided in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements

• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of nursing staff

• Monitor resident care practices to ensure quality outcomes and resident satisfaction

• Assist with scheduling, staffing, and clinical supervision of nursing personnel

• Participate in performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed

• Conduct rounds to monitor resident conditions and address concerns promptly

• Assist with infection prevention and control initiatives

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members

• Support preparation for state surveys and regulatory inspections

• Investigate incidents, accidents, and resident concerns and implement corrective actions when necessary

• Assist with policy development, quality improvement initiatives, and staff education programs

• Promote a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and resident-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

• Previous nursing leadership experience preferred

• Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred

• Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations governing long-term care facilities

• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to effectively supervise and motivate nursing staff
