EHS Owner's Representative - Fulfillment/Data Center Construction

Be the safety voice on a high-impact build in Hamlet, NC

Imagine starting your day with a walk-through of a nearly complete logistics/fulfillment facility, scanning for what most people miss. You note a few items, prioritize risks, and brief the site team. As the owner’s safety representative working closely with the general contractor, you’re the on-site eyes and ears that keep people safe and the project moving.

About the role

Excel Staffing is partnering on a 12–24 month project in the final stages of construction at a fulfillment/data center site in Hamlet, NC. We’re seeking a personable, hands-on Safety Specialist to provide on-site support, Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day (40 hours/week), starting immediately.

What you’ll do

• Maintain daily on-site presence, representing the owner while coordinating closely with the GC’s teams.
• Identify, assess, and rank risks to drive timely, practical corrective actions.
• Capture observations and complete daily documentation; submit weekly timesheets using digital tools.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with trades, supervisors, and stakeholders.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety (or related) plus 3+ years of construction H&S experience; OR
• 5+ years of construction health & safety experience specifically in a data center environment (in lieu of degree).
• Current OSHA 30.
• Strength in risk identification and, critically, risk ranking/prioritization.
• Comfort with daily paperwork, weekly timesheets, and tech-enabled reporting.
• Strong, personable communication style—you’ll serve as the GC’s on-site safety eyes and ears while representing the owner’s interests.

Engagement details

• Type: 1099 contract
• Compensation: $50–$55 per hour
• Per diem: $100 per day worked for those residing outside a 75-mile radius
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shift (40 hours/week); weekends off
• Location: On-site, Hamlet, NC (Fulfillment/Data Center)
• Start: Immediate
