Pest Control Technician - Now Hiring

As a Pest Control Technician,  you will be responsible for performing your primary responsibilities as well as maintaining the company’s mission and key values.

Primary Responsibilities

The Pest Control Technician’s activity in the organization is inclusive of but not limited to the following:

• Determine, recommend, and provide required pest management services and is proactive in solving customer pest problems
• Determining the kind of treatment required to eliminate a particular type of pest
• Advising customers on the kind of treatment required to eliminate identified pests
• Inspecting customers’ premises to identify pest problems
• Filling out all necessary paperwork upon completion of each job
• Communicating with office staff in order to schedule services with customers
• Applying suitable pesticides to infested areas by following the label instructions and complying with safety procedures
• Adjusting chemical mixtures according to the size of the infested areas
• Responding to customers’ requests for various pest control services
• Identifying opportunities to sell additional company services and products
• Delivering services in accordance with company policy and within governmental requirements
• Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with customers

Additional Responsibilities

As a Pest Control Technician, you may be asked to perform additional responsibilities such as:

• Sales
  • Initially meet with clients and start them on a service plan
  • Recommend additional, appropriate services when needed
• Assist in evaluating current pesticides 
  • Determine what products we need
  • Track/inventory of pesticides
  • Compliance review checks of pesticides
• Assist in evaluating, creating, and implementing efficient systems and processes  

Accountability

Responsibilities of the Pest Control Technician will be tracked by the following:

• Regular Check-in sessions
• Weekly - Keep track of scoreboard
• Undergo annual performance review
• Maintaining your assigned vehicle
  • Getting service performed
  • Keeping vehicle presentable

Licensing: Branch 2 Field Representative/applicator's license

Experience and training: (mandatory) Must have at least 1 year of pest control experience

The role of a Pest Control Technician isn't an easy one. While you will have a great deal of autonomy, you will be responsible to represent the company at the highest level and adhere to the company procedures.

This can be a stressful position with a great deal of responsibility. You might find yourself in the trenches with other team members and leaders. 

You will have daily interaction with clients. On a regular basis you will be interacting with the service division, growth division, and operations division. 

Physical Requirements

• Able to carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb a ladder, stairs, and mount roofs without balance concerns. 
• Ability to lift 20 lbs overhead. 
• Endure long hours of standing, climbing stairs, crawling in crawlspaces and attics, and driving.
• Have vision that is good or correctable to 20/20.
• Hearing ability that is adequate to detect rodent infestation in a house.
• Ability to work in houses that contain allergens such as pets, molds, fragrances, plants, etc.
• Must maintain physical condition and weight that does not create a safety hazard by exceeding weight limits of ladders, or prevent access to most confined spaces in a house.

Being a Pest Control Technician is a full-time position. You will work during business hours which include 40 hours per week, 5 days a week. 

• Base Wage: $26-$28/hour + 7% commission on new sales

Required qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• 18 years or older
• Valid driver's license
• Able to stand for duration of shift
• Able to comfortably lift 50 lbs
• Has (or willing to open) a checking account for direct deposit

Preferred qualifications:

• Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Review
• Speaks English
• Reads English
• Available to work: weekdays
• Willing to wear face mask
