CEO, Asset Management - SMV Licenced - Panama

A leading Panama-based investment and asset management firm catering to high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional clients, is seeking a dynamic and experienced CEO to lead the company in achieving its mission of preserving and growing wealth through personalised investment strategies and global market access.

Responsibilities will be to define and execute the company’s strategic vision. Grow the firm’s assets under management (AUM) and revenues and expand relationships with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and institutional investors. Oversee investment, brokerage, and investment banking operations to ensure compliance with Panama’s securities regulations and maintain the firm’s reputation. Identify new business opportunities, including in alternative investments and digital assets to name a few.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field, with an MBA or relevant professional qualification (e.g., CFA) being highly desirable. You should possess at least 10 to 15+ years of senior leadership experience in asset management, wealth management, investment banking, brokerage, or financial services. A deep understanding of capital markets, investment products, portfolio management, corporate finance, and financial regulations is essential. Experience operating in Panama or Latin America is essential. Strong leadership qualities with a proven ability to develop and execute business strategies, drive growth, manage P&L, lead multidisciplinary teams, and foster a high-performance culture. Additionally, a robust network within the financial industry is crucial, along with a demonstrated track record of attracting clients, investors, and strategic partners.

A deep understanding of Panama's financial regulatory framework, including knowledge of the operations and requirements of the Superintendency of the Securities Market (SMV), is required.

Applicants must hold an active Ejecutivo Principal license issued by the Superintendencia del Mercado de Valores (SMV).

Experience working with regulated financial institutions and ensuring compliance with SMV regulations, corporate governance and risk management standards is essential.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills are a must, as the role involves representing the company to clients, regulators, shareholders, and the board. Fluency in both English and Spanish is vital for operating in Panama and serving international clients effectively.
