Caregiver Job Description

A caregiver provides compassionate, hands-on support to individuals who need assistance with daily activities while helping them maintain their comfort, dignity,independence, and safety.

Typical responsibilities:

• Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal-care needs.

• Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed.

• Provide medication reminders according to care instructions.

• Help with walking, transfers, and mobility.

• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and other household tasks.

• Provide companionship and emotional support.

• Monitor and report changes in the client’s condition or behavior.

• Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or activities when required.

• Follow the care plan and maintain client privacy and dignity.

• Communicate regularly with family members, supervisors, and healthcare professionals.
