Fabrication Shop Supervisor

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of a team of 6–10 fitters and welders, ensuring productivity, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
• Manage production schedules to meet customer-required shipping deadlines and ensure timely project completion.
• Coordinate project timelines and collaborate with cross-functional departments to maintain efficient workflow and production progress.
• Ensure all required materials are prepared, available, and properly staged in the shop before projects begin.
• Promote continuous improvement and support the implementation of Lean manufacturing initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
• Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to drive progress toward the company’s Lean goals and operational objectives.
• Partner with the Plant Manager, Supply Chain, and Sales Departments to develop realistic production schedules aligned with customer requirements and available resources.
• Foster employee accountability, teamwork, and positive workplace behaviors while supporting team development and performance improvement.
• Communicate company goals, mission, and vision to employees, helping align individual responsibilities with overall business objectives.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or factory operations.
• Proven experience leading and developing teams in a production or fabrication environment, preferably supervising fitters and welders.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and fabrication prints.
• Welding knowledge and hands-on fabrication experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and employee development skills, with the ability to promote accountability and performance.
• Experience supporting Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Strategic and growth-oriented mindset with the ability to support team expansion and organizational development.
• Energetic, hands-on, and action-oriented leadership approach with the ability to adapt to change and drive improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Plant Management, Supply Chain, Sales, and other departments to achieve production objectives.

Schedule:

• 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday.
• Rotating weekend coverage on Fridays and Saturdays, as required.
