Field Pipefitter

Seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter to support commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects. This position is responsible for reading blueprints, laying out piping systems, fitting and assembling pipe, and assisting with the installation of mechanical piping systems. The ideal candidate can take a set of prints, perform pipe layout, fit and install piping systems with minimal supervision, and work safely and efficiently on commercial mechanical construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and piping layouts.
• Measure, cut, fit, thread, groove, and assemble piping systems.
• Install carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, and PVC piping as required.
• Perform pipe fit-up for welding operations.
• Install valves, hangers, supports, pumps, and mechanical equipment.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and elevations according to project specifications.
• Assist with system testing, troubleshooting, and punch-list completion.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Coordinate with welders, foremen, and project managers to complete projects on schedule.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of pipe fitting experience in commercial or industrial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and piping drawings.
• Experience with pipe layout, measurements, and installation.
• Knowledge of mechanical piping systems and components.
• Experience installing pipe hangers, valves, fittings, and supports.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation to job sites.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in physically demanding environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC mechanical piping systems.
• Experience fitting pipe for TIG, MIG, or Stick welding.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
• Scissor Lift and Boom Lift Certification.
• Experience with chilled water, heating water, refrigerant, and process piping systems.
