Job Description
Job Description
This hybrid role bridges hands-on assembly with final-stage logistics, putting you in direct control of building custom products using power tools and ensuring their safe packing, racking, and dispatch. You will serve as both a core builder and the final line of quality control before finished goods reach the customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical Assembly: Build, fit, and construct custom retractable awning and shade system components using power tools, precision measuring equipment, and specialized assembly techniques.
- Specialized Packing & Protection: Securely package long-format products (up to 26 feet) using custom foam, plastic buffers, and automated shrink-wrap machinery to ensure zero damage in transit.
- Logistics & Rack Management: Safely stage, organize, and store oversized crates on industrial racks, and assist in loading/unloading freight trucks.
- Quality Assurance & Auditing: Perform rigorous final inspections to ensure assembled units match technical specifications, purchase orders, and shipping manifests.
- Cross-Department Support: Maintain a clean, safe work area and a "team-first" attitude, cross-training across production lines and logistics as needed.
Requirements & Physical Demands
- Mechanical Aptitude: Hands-on experience operating power tools, pneumatic equipment, and precision measuring devices. Paid, on-site product training provided.
- Heavy Lifting & Spatial Awareness: Ability to consistently lift, pivot, and maneuver 50 to 150 lbs., with comfort handling long, awkward inventory (up to 26 feet).
- Work Ethic & Precision: High level of accuracy ("measure twice, cut once" mindset) with the ability to work unsupervised and meet tight deadlines.
- Communication & Logistics: Strong communication skills to read production sheets, flag order discrepancies, and coordinate with freight carriers.
- Transport: Reliable transportation is required.
