Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Shop Technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of diesel-powered, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical equipment. This position offers hands-on work, ongoing training, and opportunities for career growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy equipment and diesel-powered machinery.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair documents.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software, including CAT ET and CAT SIS.
- Inspect, test, and verify equipment performance.
- Install and replace parts and components as needed.
- Complete service reports, work orders, and related documentation.
- Operate lifting devices and shop equipment safely.
- Maintain a safe work environment and provide excellent service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years of experience repairing and maintaining diesel or heavy equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Experience with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated team player able to work with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions
- Primarily works indoors in a non-climate-controlled shop.
- Regular standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Frequent use of tools, diagnostic equipment, and computers.
- PPE required.
- Overtime, weekends, shifts, and on-call work may be required.
