Job Description
We are looking for an experienced nurse to work Fridays -Sundays from 7am to 7pm caring for a 73 year old woman who suffered a stroke two years ago and has a tracheostomy and g-tube for feedings. She is wheelchair dependent and needs assistance with her medications, feeding through her g-tube, bathing, toileting on a portable commode, physical therapy, transferring and mental and emotional care. The patient has a tracheostomy so it is essential that the applicant have actual hands-on experience with trachs, trach suctioning, cleaning and trach changes. Experience with BIPAP, CPAP or Vent machines is helpful as on occasion the patient may need to use her BIPAP machine during the day. Otherwise, the patient is on low level oxygen throughout the day. There is also a nurses aide that will be present on Fridays-Sundays during the shift to assist the applicant in tending to the patient.
