R&D Materials Engineer, Quantum - Full-time

LockLeed International is recruiting an R&D Materials Engineer for quantum circuit work at an electronics manufacturer in Bloomington. This is a full-time, direct hire role with the client, paying $90,000 to $120,000 a year and reporting to the R&D Manager.

What you'll do

• Own research and feasibility testing of new materials and processes for quantum circuits
• Advise on materials, technology roadmaps, timelines and R&D costs
• Design and run experiments, prepare samples and prototypes, and analyze test data
• Write test methods and reports, and help with patent applications
• Direct R&D technicians and work with engineering, operations, product managers and customers
• Attend trade shows to keep up with the quantum circuit space

What you need

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, chemistry or materials science
• 4 to 7 years of engineering experience; regulated industry experience preferred
• Experience developing and characterizing thin films
• SEM and EDS experience, plus basic metrology tools
• Statistical methods; DOE and ANOVA a plus
• Process engineering experience with PCBs, flexible heaters or assemblies desired
• Travel about 5%
