ABOUT THE ROLE

Packaging Exchange is a national packaging and distribution company operating 25 locations across North America with a team of 400+. We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to safely operate powered equipment to move, load, and organize inventory while supporting shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment at the branch.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

•     Move and organize material across the warehouse.

•     Operate a forklift and pallet jack to load and unload inventory from incoming and outgoing trucks.

•     Verify the accuracy of items against the manifest for incoming and outgoing trucks.

•     Pick order items as needed.

•     Perform material handling, inventory control, and shipping and receiving; identify, hold, and segregate defective or damaged material.

•     Prepare and complete all necessary documentation as outlined in the work instructions.

•     Report unsafe working conditions, damaged products, or improper procedures to management.

•     Maintain a clean work environment to ensure safety and compliance.

•     Perform additional duties, assignments, and cross-functional responsibilities as directed by management. Duties may be adjusted based on business needs, customer requirements, staffing levels, and operational priorities

TEAM FLEXIBILITY & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SUPPORT

Warehouse operations center on three core functions: powered material handling, order picking and packing, and production assembly. Employees may be assigned duties across these functions based on operational needs and business requirements

•     Order picking: every warehouse team member is expected to help pick orders without operating a forklift, as workload requires.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

•     Current forklift certification required.

•     Minimum of one (1) year of recent forklift operating experience

•     High school diploma or GED.

•     Ability to read and understand work instructions, safety procedures, shipping documents, and inventory information, and perform basic math calculations required for the position.

•     Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and adjusted schedules as required by business needs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

•     Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, including regularly lifting, pushing, pulling, moving, and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

•     Ability to perform warehouse duties involving standing, walking, bending, reaching, twisting, squatting, climbing, and repetitive motions throughout the workday.

•     Ability to read computer screens, documents, labels, and inventory information and safely navigate warehouse and office environments.

Schedule

Typical schedule is Monday-Friday. Overtime, weekends, and schedule adjustments may be required based on operational demands and business needs.

Experience

1+ year forklift experience; forklift certification required
