Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist for a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of recent radiology experience and proficiency with C-arm/portable imaging in fast-paced ER settings.

Details

• Acute care setting in a Level 1 trauma facility with 300+ beds, 50 ER rooms, and 28 ORs
• Rotates through ER, PICU, NICU, Endoscopy, General X-ray, Portable X-rays, and Panorex
• Performs inpatient/outpatient fluoroscopy including swallow studies, cystograms, VCUGs, urethrograms, arthrograms, lumbar punctures, and myelograms
• Assists in OR cases for Neurosurgery, Urology, Orthopedics, and Pediatrics
• Uses GE 656 General Rooms, GE OEC C-arms and Mini C-arms, Siemens Luminos Agile and Artis Zee Fluoro Rooms, Siemens Mira Portables, Medtronic O-arm, Hologic Fluoroscan Mini C-arm, and Midmark Panorex
• EPIC EMR system used
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts including weekends
• Shift may be days, evenings, or nights depending on facility need at time of request

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent radiology technologist experience required
• Active BLS certification (AHA) required
• Active ARRT (R) certification required
• NDMRIT licensure (North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board) required, or willingness to apply within 48 hours of offer acceptance
• License required if applicable
• Experience with portables and ER required
• Experience with C-arm required
• Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles including positioning, image processing, quality control, and radiation protection
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Radiation badge supplied by agency/traveler

Additional Information

• Ensures accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures and implements radiation safety guidelines throughout imaging processes
• Delivers patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures
• Navigates EMR system and performs additional duties as assigned
• Orientation includes equipment review with a preceptor, requiring sign-off as competent, including demonstrated proficiency with C-arm and O-arm prior to independent OR use
• Gray scrub color required
• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Accepts local candidates within 80 miles of the facility at a reduced pay rate
• Candidates who previously worked for this health system must disclose prior employment and have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
