Child Life Specialist (CCLS) - Day Shift | Full-Time

We are seeking a Child Life Specialist to support hospitalized children and their families by helping them cope with the hospital environment through developmentally appropriate and therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess children and families and develop individualized child life plans.
• Plan and provide therapeutic, developmental, and coping activities.
• Document assessments, observations, recommendations, and progress in the medical record.
• Support and supervise volunteers involved in play and developmental activities.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in child health education, community activities, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Maintain current knowledge of child life services through training and professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a related field.
• Completion of a 600-hour child life internship or fellowship.
• CCLS certification or ability to complete certification within 1 year of employment.
• Candidates with 1 year of Child Life Specialist experience may also be considered.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
