Electrical Estimator

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator / Project Manager. This role combines electrical estimating, customer and contractor communication, project coordination, and financial management.

Job Roles and Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for customers and general contractors throughout the project.

• Conduct site walks and confirm scope, schedule, expectations, and installation requirements.

• Review electrical plans and specifications and complete electrical takeoffs.

• Obtain supplier, subcontractor, and equipment pricing.

• Prepare estimates, labor-hour budgets, proposals, exclusions, clarifications, and RFIs.

• Follow up on proposals and assist with securing awarded work.

• Coordinate purchasing, submittals, rentals, material deliveries, and project handoff to the field team.

• Track project milestones, labor hours, material costs, job costs, and projected costs to complete.

• Maintain project budgets, financial forecasts, and profitability.

• Coordinate with customers, general contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and other trades.

• Identify, price, document, and obtain approval for change orders.

• Coordinate progress billing, inspections, punch lists, closeout, and final billing.

• Review estimated versus actual project performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability.

• Manage multiple active projects while keeping schedules, costs, documentation, and communication on track.

Qualifications and Certifications

• Electrical estimating and project management experience.

• Strong knowledge of electrical construction and installation methods.

• Ability to read plans, specifications, and construction documents.

• Understanding of electrical labor requirements, materials, and project costs.

• Experience managing project budgets, financial forecasts, and change orders.

• Strong communication skills with customers, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel.

• Strong organization and ability to manage multiple projects independently.

• Commercial electrical experience strongly preferred.

Hands-on electrical trade experience is a strong plus.

Additional Information

• Performance-based incentives tied to project profitability, estimating accuracy, change-order management, and successful project delivery.

• The Production Manager handles field manpower and daily execution; this role owns the project, finances, coordination, and customer relationship.
