Forklift/Hilo Operator – Steel Manufacturing

Schedule: Multiple shifts; overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed

About the Position

The Diez Group Kansas City is a tier-one metal parts supplier, warehousing, and logistics center serving the automotive industry. With more than 45 years of experience, we are committed to quality, on-time delivery, and competitive service.

We are seeking a dependable Forklift/Hilo Operator to safely and efficiently move, stage, load, and unload materials throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Pick, move, sort, and stage products.
• Load and unload materials.
• Follow work instructions and SOPs.
• Work with production employees, forklift operators, and supervisors.
• Inspect forklifts before use and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Report unsafe conditions.
• Assist with training team members when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
• 2+ years of forklift/Hilo experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• OSHA forklift certification is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Alert, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy materials.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Flexible to work overtime as needed.
• Reliable attendance and adherence to company policies.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Heavy industrial steel manufacturing, warehouse, and logistics environment. PPE is required on the plant floor. Frequent standing, walking, forklift operation, and movement of equipment and materials. Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy materials and work in varying weather conditions.

Schedule

Full-time with multiple shifts. Overtime, weekends, and extended hours may be required based on business needs.

Supervisory Responsibility

No direct supervisory responsibilities.
