Title: Industrial Plant Reliability Mechanic
Location: Leeds, SC
Reports to: Plant Manager
Schedule: Monday–Friday day shift; on‑call as required
Pay: $32.00–$35.00 per hour

Role Overview

Own the mechanical reliability of production and utility assets in a chemical manufacturing environment. Uphold RMP/PSM, SOPs, and safety standards while executing precision repairs and proactive maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Welding, cutting, and burning (certified) for equipment and piping repairs.
• Repair/rebuild rotating equipment: pumps, gearboxes, and electric motors.
• Perform power transmission alignment (couplings and sheaves) to tolerance.
• Install, modify, and maintain process and utility piping systems; conduct tank openings and clean‑outs.
• General facility maintenance and upkeep.
• Operate mobile equipment: man lifts, forklifts, and other site vehicles.
• Replace and torque nuts/bolts on pipe flanges from 1" to 48" diameter.
• Complete work orders, PMs, and safety forms accurately; maintain clean, legible records.
• Identify and promptly report non‑conformances; propose corrective and preventive actions.
• Communicate parts usage/needs to the Plant Manager to support job completion.
• Maintain accurate weekly timesheets; meet attendance and punctuality expectations.

Compliance & Safety

• Consistently follow SOPs, plant Rules & Regulations, and programs such as RMP and PSM.
• Work in outdoor conditions with radiant heat or cold; perform tasks at ~100°ree;F in full PPE (acid‑resistant PVC rain suit, rubber boots, gloves, face shield).
• Climb ladders/stairs; lift per OSHA guidelines.
• Work standard 8‑hour shifts and, as needed, 14–16 hour emergency repair days; respond to off‑shift/weekend/holiday callouts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of mechanical maintenance in an industrial/chemical setting (preferred).
• Proficient with computers: Microsoft applications, email, and CMMS.
• Read/interpret safety rules, O&M and procedure manuals, manufacturer documentation, diagrams, and schematics.
• Ability to complete role‑specific training and certification programs.
