Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist independently performs imaging procedures utilizing established scan protocols for diagnostic purposes. This role requires the application of independent judgment and technical skills to ensure optimal patient care and accurate imaging results.

Responsibilities

• Independently executes computed tomography procedures, including contrast administration.
• Adapts protocols based on independent judgment to obtain the best diagnostic images.
• Utilizes advanced imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, reconstruct, and document image data.
• Demonstrates proper techniques in venipuncture and the use of power injectors.
• Administers oral, rectal, and IV contrast per physician orders and departmental policies.
• Engages with patients and co-workers with professionalism, empathy, and respect.
• Communicates clearly with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns.
• Ensures patient ID using two identifiers and follow universal protocol for procedures.
• Documents patient history accurately in electronic records.
• Codes and tracks exams properly, ensuring all data is correctly archived and interpreted.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the department.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of an accredited CNMT program.
• CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire.
• Minimum of 2 years of imaging experience, particularly in CT, CT Angiography, and Interventional Radiology preferred.
• Current licensure and certification: ARRT Certificate, Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTCB), and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Compliance with PA Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73.

Schedule

This is a Day Shift position, specifically scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7 AM to 7 PM.
