Manufacturing Engineer

About the role
A global medical technology manufacturer looking for an electrically focused sustaining engineer to support production of its CT imaging systems. You'll be the go-to engineer on the manufacturing floor. You'll keep production running, solve hardware problems, manage component obsolescence, and help bring new products from R&D into production.

What you'll do

• Be the onsite engineering resource for manufacturing and operations, responding quickly when issues come up on the line
• Own and drive projects, including CAPAs, continuous improvement efforts, capacity increases, and obsolescence
• Run system-level testing on finished imaging systems to help meet production demand
• Design, specify, and build test equipment and fixtures
• Evaluate end-of-life components and select replacements using schematics and PCB layouts
• Process engineering changes and maintain BOMs in a PLM system (Arena experience a plus)
• Write and improve test plans, procedures, specifications, work instructions, and device history records
• Plan and execute equipment and process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Partner with R&D on transferring new products into manufacturing
• Work with Quality on failure investigations, both in the plant and from the field, and implement corrective actions
• Define capital equipment needs for projects and help shape material flow on the floor
• Work independently and as part of a small engineering team
• Complete required training, including radiation safety. A personal radiation monitor is worn when working near X-ray systems.

What you bring

• BS in Electrical Engineering (required)
• 5+ years in manufacturing, sustaining, or test engineering, ideally for regulated products
• Hands-on experience with analog, digital, and power circuits, plus writing test software
• Experience designing and validating test hardware
• Working knowledge of PCB design, fabrication, and assembly
• Familiarity with FDA, ISO 13485, and Health Canada requirements
• Clear technical writing and communication skills
• The ability to analyze data from multiple sources and make sound recommendations to leadership
• A self-starter who handles a fast-paced environment and likes owning problems end to end
