Powder Coating Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Clean, sandblast, degrease, and mask metal parts so the powder sticks properly.
• Coating Application: Operate electrostatic spray guns and machinery to put an even layer of powder on products.
• Curing Process: Load parts onto lines or racks, place them in baking ovens, and monitor temperatures and cure times.
• Quality Control: Check finished items for flaws, measure coating thickness with gauges, and fix any missed spots.
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean spray booths, change colors, and fix basic machine problems. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Common Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: One to two years of hands-on powder coating or industrial manufacturing work.
• Physical Skills: Ability to stand for long shifts, wear protective gear, and lift heavy items (often 35 to 50 pounds).
• Attention to Detail: Good hand-eye coordination to get a smooth, flaw-free finish
