Mechanical Technician(Construction/Tools/Inventory)-$20/hr - 413

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist other personnel in performing more complex and involved testing through test sample preparation, instrumentation and assisting with the tests as required

• Build wall and floor sections for use in firestop testing

• Prepare test samples for installation of penetrations by diamond coring, cutting, or other methods

• Install penetrations and firestop systems in test assemblies

• Complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner by maintaining work areas and assigned equipment in good working order

• Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor

• Adhere to Quality Philosophy of meeting customer needs and expectations by continual improvements

of processes, assigned tasks, and related responsibilities

• Additional duties as assigned

Skills:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required

• Experience in lab, mechanical testing, or related construction activities, preferred

• Basic mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and safety precautions, required

• Basic math skills (algebra, trigonometry), required

• Basic use of PC software (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook), preferred

• Ability to interpret drawings and sketches, required

• Basic carpentry and metalworking skills, required

• Forklift license required
