POSITION SUMMARY:

  

Full-time, Sunday-Thursday Position

Seeking someone who can take initiative, servant leadership, comfort level with handling challenging behaviors and great relational skills.

Oversees the operations of the Friendship Club programming at the Tysons Location and running of said program.  Serve as a resource to church leaders as an inclusionary specialist in teens and adult ministries whenever assistance is needed with adapting or modifying programs.  Manages recruitment and intake of incoming volunteers for Access ministry as well as coordinating training and orientation.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee development of Friendship Club curriculum with modifications and adaptations for varying ability levels
  • Manage Access Friendship Club classroom space, oversee ordering of supplies and all materials
  • Manage Access Friendship Club Sunday school program and Friendship Club socials & bible studies. 
  • Conduct intake meetings with incoming families

  • Coordinate volunteer’s involvement in the ministry

  • Care for and disciple lead volunteers, equipping them for the ministry

  • Care for and disciple families in Friendship Club intentionally

  • Collaborate with Soul Sisters(FC ladies) and BibleBros(FC men)

  • Recruitment of new volunteers in collaboration with Access team

  • Onboarding new volunteers for all campuses 

  • All other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum years of relevant experience: 2-3 years 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent work experience with disability community 
  • License/Commission/Ordination: not required 

  • Knowledge: Disability awareness, management skills, ministry development

  • Flexibility for evenings/weekends

  • Computer applications: Microsoft Office, Outlook. Ministry Platform desirable, but training will be provided

  • Communications: Public speaking, Writing, Small Groups, Counseling

  • Management/Leadership: supervisory experience, facilitation skills, volunteer management and recruitment

  • In line with MBC's Statement of Faith  

  • Other Skills: Organization, team building, creative thinking and critical problem solving, passion for working with special population, able to multitask, great degree of flexibility

WORKING CONDITIONS:


Must be able to read, speak, and hear. Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, bend, kneel, and lift. The employee is required to be able to lift and carry items that can weigh 25 pounds or more for short distances.
