Structural Steel Estimator

The Structural Steel Estimator will support commercial building and industrial facility projects through full preconstruction-to-award involvement. Reporting to the general manager or owner, this role will prepare accurate bids, evaluate project scope and costs, coordinate pricing, track opportunities, and support contract negotiations through award.

Responsibilities

• Prepare competitive structural steel bids for commercial buildings and industrial facilities.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from construction plans and drawings.
• Review drawings and analyze project scope, requirements, and exclusions.
• Develop cost estimates using material pricing and subcontractor quotations.
• Track bids and maintain organized estimating documentation.
• Use Excel and Bluebeam to support takeoffs, pricing, and cost analysis.
• Provide contract negotiation support through the project award stage.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in structural steel estimating.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with structural steel estimating, quantity takeoffs, and fabrication.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Strong cost analysis, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
