Aquarium Store Retail Associate

Ocean State Aquatics is seeking a part-time Aquarium Store Retail Associate for its Coventry, RI location. This position focuses primarily on aquarium maintenance and aquatic animal care, with opportunities to grow into a full-time retail role. During typical shifts, the associate will provide limited product assistance and routine aquarium-care guidance to customers. This position will be working closely with a small team, so having strong personal management skills, as well as strong collaboration skills with other team members is necessary. We will train you on all of our necessary processes and procedures, once trained, candidate should be able to perform those tasks with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Feed fish and provide ongoing aquatic animal care.
• Perform routine water changes and water chemistry tests.
• Clean and scrub aquarium tanks.
• Maintain healthy, well-kept aquarium displays.
• Restock inventory and retail products.
• Assist customers with product selection and routine aquarium-care questions.
• Support retail sales and deliver friendly customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in aquarium retail and aquatic animal care.
• Experience with aquarium maintenance and water chemistry testing.
• Knowledge of aquatic animal care and fish husbandry.
• Experience in retail sales and customer service.
