Production Mechanic - 16857672

• Perform preventative maintenance on production and packaging equipment, including encapsulation machines, rotary tablet presses, blister packaging machines, coating machines, printers, secondary packaging equipment, electrical and electronic systems, pneumatic systems, and dust collection systems.
• Follow diagrams, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, engineering specifications, and GMP-compliant SOPs.
• Perform manufacturing and packaging equipment line setup and changeover procedures.
• Evaluate equipment condition during setups and report needed repairs or excessive wear to the Supervisor and/or Lead Production Mechanic.
• Ensure proper cleanliness and assembly of manufacturing and packaging equipment according to SOPs.
• Perform equipment repairs, tuning, and project work as assigned.
• Inspect equipment for defects, misalignment, wear, and insufficient lubrication and determine the appropriate repair process while minimizing production interruptions.
• Fabricate parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
• Maintain equipment, parts, and supply inventories.
• Work with outside vendors who are onsite for special projects.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment while complying with applicable cGMP procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report dangerous conditions or safety concerns.
• Complete root-cause and wear-and-tear analysis by inspecting equipment and using specialized measuring equipment.
• Prepare mechanical maintenance reports and complete cGMP-compliant documentation.
• Help control downtime by coordinating routine preventative maintenance activities with production management.
• Provide mechanical technical information while maintaining a teamwork mentality and positive professional attitude.
• Assist other maintenance personnel as required.
• Report when a temporary repair or fix has been made.
• Account for all parts and tools once work has been completed.

• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Able to climb ladders and work at heights.
• May be required to work in tight or confined spaces.
• Overtime work may be required, including weekends, as necessary.
• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where some allergens and enzymes are present.

• Associate’s Degree in Mechanical field or related field.
• 3-5 years of related work experience.
• Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and electrical systems.
• Experience working in a cGMP environment.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to operate hand, power, and specialized tools.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong diagnostic abilities and manual agility.
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code preferred.
• Professional certifications such as SMRP, IHM, etc. are a plus.
