Imaging/CT Technologist

The Imaging/CT Technologist is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic x-ray and CT images in compliance with physician or radiologist instructions while adhering to safety standards and protocols. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to patient care.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Produce clinical diagnostic x-ray and CT images of designated body areas as specified by the physician.
• Ensure proper radiation protection measures are implemented.
• Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) for generating and finalizing exam orders.
• Perform quality control (QC) measures and record data to ensure consistent accuracy and precision.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment by conducting equipment checks and monitoring regulatory compliance.
• Exhibit regular attendance, punctuality, and minimal unplanned absences.
• Stay current with clinical competencies through ongoing education and training on new protocols and equipment.
• Assist with patient transport as required.
• Understand and operate Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for image transmission.
• Perform portable x-ray procedures as requested in emergency and nursing units, where applicable.
• Propose and implement process improvements for enhanced operational efficiency.
• Uphold and promote company values in all interactions.
• Communicate supply needs to appropriate personnel to ensure seamless testing operations.
• Collaborate effectively with other departments to enhance patient care and staff experiences.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Completion of a JRCERT accredited radiological training program or equivalent is required.
• Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
• Certification in R.T. and C.T. or willingness to obtain C.T. accreditation is required.
• Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• Average of less than 1 hour sitting per workday.
• Average of 7-8 hours standing per workday.
• Average of 6-7 hours walking per workday.
• Frequent bending/stooping (20-30 times/day).
• Several squats (20-30 times/day).
• Frequent reaching above shoulder level (20-30 times/day).
• Ability to carry up to 50 lbs and lift awkward weights of 100+ lbs as needed.
• Constant use of hands for fine dexterity tasks, greater than 25 times/hour.
