Do you enjoy staying active, connecting with residents, and being part of a team where every day feels different? Martha Jefferson House is looking for an energetic and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Day Shift team.

Day Shift is at the heart of daily life at the House. From helping residents start their mornings to assisting with meals, activities, personal care, and daily routines, our CNAs can build meaningful relationships and make a difference throughout the day.

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON) and licensed nursing staff, you will provide hands-on care and assistance while promoting each resident's dignity, independence, comfort, and safety.

What You'll Do

• Help residents start their day with personal care, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing and personal care.

• Assist residents with meals, feeding, and monitoring food and fluid intake.

• Help residents move safely throughout the House and to and from dining and activity areas.

• Assist with transfers, repositioning, and range-of-motion activities according to each resident's care needs.

• Take and record vital signs as directed.

• Get to know your residents and promptly communicate changes in condition to the charge nurse.

• Accurately document care and report refusals or concerns.

• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents.

• Follow infection prevention and safety procedures.

• Work closely with nurses, fellow CNAs, and other departments as part of the MJH team.

• Most importantly, help make each resident's day a little better!

Who We're Looking For

We want CNAs who bring more than clinical skills to the job. We're looking for people who are dependable, positive, compassionate, patient, and ready to be part of a team.

Qualifications include:

• Current, unrestricted Virginia Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.

• Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant education/training program.

• High school diploma or intent to obtain a GED within one year of employment.

• Current CPR certification.

• Ability to meet applicable health and employment requirements, including criminal background and reference checks.

• Commitment to maintaining CNA certification and required continuing education.

• A genuine interest in caring for and supporting older adults.

Weekend Day Shift Differential

Work Saturday or Sunday Day Shift and earn an additional $2.00/hour on top of your regular hourly rate.
