About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Designer to join our team and contribute to a variety of engineering projects from conceptual design through construction documents. This position works closely with Principals, Engineers, and other Designers to develop high-quality plumbing designs using CAD and Revit.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of plumbing design experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to apply sound engineering judgment to design challenges.

Responsibilities

• Develop plumbing designs and construction documents using CAD and Revit.
• Work with Principals, Engineers, and Designers throughout all phases of project development.
• Establish basic design criteria and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Use professional judgment to modify designs and develop solutions for complex project requirements.
• Perform plumbing calculations and equipment selections.
• Review shop drawings and assist with construction administration.
• Conduct site visits, field investigations, and surveys, including documenting existing facilities for as-built drawings.
• Participate in construction site visits, which may include occasional out-of-town travel.
• Assist with project management, scheduling, client interaction, and coordination.
• Assist with engineering proposals, including developing project fees and scopes of work.
• Prepare specifications and project documentation.
• Document project design procedures, meetings, and telephone conversations.
• Follow established company design and drafting standards.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional plumbing design experience.
• Proficiency with Revit and CAD.
• Strong understanding of plumbing design principles, standards, and engineering practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and technical specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and professional judgment skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Engineers, Designers, Principals, clients, and other project stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to conduct field visits and travel out of town when required.
