Retail Manager in Training

The Retail Manager in Training develops the skills and experience needed to lead store operations through store-based mentorship and a structured management development program. The role rotates through all store departments, including the cash office and operations, sales floor and customer service, and inventory and receiving. Day-to-day coaching and performance feedback are provided by the store manager, district manager, and assigned training mentor, with progression measured through inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, sales and revenue growth, and team productivity.

Responsibilities

• Support store operations across all departments and operational functions.
• Supervise and support team members while building team productivity.
• Deliver excellent customer service and manage customer needs.
• Support sales management and contribute to sales and revenue growth.
• Maintain inventory control and accuracy across receiving and store operations.
• Execute visual merchandising standards on the sales floor.
• Assist with staff scheduling, cash management, and loss prevention.
• Participate in performance coaching and receive feedback from store and district leadership.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in retail management.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of retail operations and point-of-sale systems.
• Experience with inventory management and sales analysis.
• Experience in visual merchandising and loss prevention.
• Team leadership and customer service skills.
• Conflict resolution skills.
