Responsibilities

  • Patient Check-In & Intake: Greet approximately 40 patients on full clinic days (and ~15 on half days), collect photo IDs, gather updated insurance cards, and obtain all necessary consent forms prior to procedures.
  • Financial & Copay Collections: Review account balances with patients, explain basic insurance coverage details (copays, coinsurance, and deductibles), and collect payments at check-in/check-out.
  • Digital Paperwork Support: Hand out and guide patients through new patient paperwork on clinic iPads, providing basic technical troubleshooting as needed.
  • Patient Communications & Call Handling: Answer incoming phone calls, respond to general patient inquiries, answer basic clinical questions, or escalate complex clinical concerns humbly and accurately to the provider/manager.
  • Back-Office Coverage & Clinical Support: Cross-cover back-office duties when the primary MA is out, including escorting patients to rooms, taking basic vitals, and assisting the female physician during exams/procedures.
  • Colorectal & Specimen Handling: Support exams and procedures involving the pelvic/anal region, including handling specimens, stool samples, and maintaining sanitary exam rooms

Required Skills

  • Front and back office MA experience.
  • High school diploma or GED (MA certification is not mandatory).
  • Basic insurance knowledge / prior authorization understanding.
  • Willingness and comfortability with colorectal setting and handling/seeing specimens/stool/privates. preferable female but would be open to a male - Athena would be great

  • Athena, Colo-rectal/gastro/oncology, Spanish speaking

Schedule/Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (with a 30-minute lunch; lunch time can vary on heavy clinic days)
