Job Description

This role focuses on cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the yard and equipment area to ensure a safe, efficient, and orderly workspace. You will perform general labor tasks, assist with basic maintenance, and support material handling and equipment operations in an outdoor, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and organize yard materials, tools, and equipment to maintain a neat and orderly work area
• Dispose of debris and waste materials to keep the yard tidy and safe
• Assist with basic maintenance tasks, including repair and build-out of construction office trailers
• Handle materials safely and efficiently, including loading, unloading, and moving items throughout the yard and warehouse
• Operate a sit-down forklift and other material handling equipment, when trained and authorized
• Use hand and power tools for general labor and maintenance activities
• Support construction and general labor tasks as needed in the yard and warehouse
• Follow all safety protocols, company procedures, and yard operating guidelines
• Communicate effectively with customers, sales staff, contractors, shop personnel, and employees at various branch locations
• Work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting productivity and quality expectations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment at all times

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor conditions, including walking, standing, bending, stretching, and lifting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to keep yard and equipment areas orderly
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with general labor, yard work, or maintenance tasks
• Ability to safely lift items up to 60 pounds
• Basic material handling experience, including loading and moving materials
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools for repairs and general yard work
• Comfort working in an outside environment for the full shift
• Valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers, sales people, contractors, shop personnel, and employees at various branch locations
• Some knowledge of computers for basic work-related tasks

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous yard, warehouse, construction, or maintenance experience is a plus
• Experience operating a sit-down forklift or other material handling equipment is beneficial
• Experience in construction-related tasks, such as repair and build-out of office trailers, is advantageous
• Experience in general labor roles involving lifting, material handling, and use of hand and power tools
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks in a busy yard environment

Work Environment

This position is primarily outdoors and involves working in a yard and warehouse setting. The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday. The role requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stretching, and use of hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and lift items. You will regularly lift materials up to 60 pounds and handle construction-related equipment, hand tools, power tools, and material handling devices such as sit-down forklifts. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
