Job Title: Wiring Technician (2nd Shift) Indoor

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels for highquality chiller and controls products ranging from 150 to 550 tons. You will interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to build and verify control panels that meet performance, safety, and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire electrical control panels according to schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications.
• Perform pointtopoint wiring and install components such as circuit breakers, relays, power supplies, and PLCs.
• Route and secure wiring neatly to ensure proper function, reliability, and compliance with safety standards.
• Conduct quality checks and functional testing of panels prior to final installation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve wiring, component, and electrical issues to ensure proper operation of units.
• Perform and support performance testing on chiller and controls products ranging from 150 to 550 tons, and accurately report on specific unit types.
• Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions to confirm correct assembly and operation.
• Carry out testing requirements including pressure testing, evacuation and charging, refrigeration performance testing, electrical component testing, and mechanical/electrical installations.
• Test design temperature differences (TD) at required waterflows and pressure drops to verify unit performance.
• Build test rigs and assist with the development and execution of test plans.
• Contribute to troubleshooting activities, including identifying root causes of performance or electrical issues.
• Participate in risk assessments and health and safety investigations as required.
• Assist Technical Support with site visits as periodically required, including supporting customer endofline witness tests and assisting with noise tests.
• Support quality investigations and structured problem solving for issues identified through external customer complaints and internal concerns.
• Engage crossfunctional departments in problemsolving activities to drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety procedures and guidelines.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in panel wiring, electrical assembly, or a closely related field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as tape measures for electrical and mechanical work.
• Working knowledge of electrical codes, wiring standards, and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform precise and efficient wiring and assembly work.
• Capability to troubleshoot wiring and component issues and support resolution of electrical problems.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical assembly related to HVAC or chiller systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, and stoop for extended periods in a plant environment.
• Comfort working in a fastpaced production setting with a focus on quality and ontime delivery.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of pressure testing procedures, leak detection methods, and chiller systems.
• Experience with refrigeration systems and HVAC electrical work.
• EPA Universal or other EPA-related refrigeration certifications (if held).
• Experience with PLC wiring and troubleshooting (preferred but not required).
• Familiarity with refrigeration performance testing and electrical component testing.
• Experience building test rigs and assisting with test plan execution.
• Experience using structured problemsolving tools and methodologies in a manufacturing or quality environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a large, indoor plant environment that is not temperature controlled. You will work primarily on the 2nd shift and spend most of the day standing and walking, with regular stooping and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds (nonrepetitive). The role involves working with hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, electrical components, and HVAC/chiller equipment. The environment is productionoriented and fastpaced, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and adherence to established procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grenada, MS.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
