- Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Lead and promote a culture of safety across all construction operations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Review and update safety programs to reflect regulatory changes and industry best practices.
- Establish safety goals, KPIs, and reporting metrics.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and maintain OSHA recordkeeping requirements.
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and jobsite evaluations.
- Monitor corrective actions and ensure timely resolution of safety concerns.
- Serve as the primary liaison during OSHA inspections and regulatory audits.
- Stay current on changing safety regulations and construction safety requirements.
- Develop and facilitate safety orientation programs for new hires.
- Conduct ongoing safety training, toolbox talks, and refresher courses.
- Educate employees, supervisors, and project teams on safe work practices.
- Maintain training records and ensure employees possess required certifications.
- Lead investigations of accidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage incidents.
- Identify root causes and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and communicate findings to leadership.
- Track incident trends and recommend improvements to reduce risk.
- Perform routine site visits to monitor compliance and identify hazards.
- Partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to address safety concerns.
- Ensure proper utilization of PPE, equipment, and fall protection systems.
- Evaluate subcontractor safety performance and compliance.
- Collaborate with insurance carriers, third-party safety consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Support workers' compensation claims management and return-to-work programs.
- Develop strategies to reduce company liability and improve safety performance.
- Assist with risk assessments and pre-construction safety planning.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field preferred.
- Strong preference for fluency in Spanish
- OSHA 300 Certification required.
- 7+ years of progressive safety leadership experience within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and risk management practices.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and safety audits.
- Ability to train and influence employees at all organizational levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
