Job Title: Production Packaging and Crating Specialist

Job Description

This role focuses on building crates and packaging manufactured products after they have been painted, ensuring high-quality gates and barriers are prepared and shipped correctly. You will follow work instructions and blueprints, perform visual quality checks on paint jobs, and package the appropriate hardware and components for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Build and assemble crates to safely transport manufactured products, including gates and barriers.
• Package and prepare products after the painting process to ensure they are ready for shipment.
• Follow detailed work instructions and blueprints to complete builds and packaging accurately.
• Perform visual quality control inspections on paint jobs to confirm products meet quality standards.
• Package the correct hardware and accessories into each crate for shipping.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools to construct and secure crates and packaging materials.
• Cut and prepare wood and other materials needed for crate building and product protection.
• Wrap and secure products for shipping to prevent damage during transit.
• Follow production and assembly procedures to maintain consistency and efficiency.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.

Essential Skills

• Ability to use measuring devices accurately.
• Proficiency with hand tools and basic power tools.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including work instructions and blueprints.
• Experience in assembly or production environments.
• Capability to perform visual inspections for quality control on painted surfaces.
• Basic carpentry or woodworking skills.
• Comfort using pneumatic tools in a production setting.
• Attention to detail when packaging hardware and components for shipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous woodworking experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience in crate building or construction-related work.
• Experience in packaging and wrapping products for shipping.
• Familiarity with hand and power tool operation and safety.
• Experience in carpentry, construction, or related trades.

Work Environment

The environment is organized and production-focused, with regular use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and measuring devices for crate building and packaging tasks. The schedule typically runs Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with occasional half days on Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. as needed. Team members have access to a well-equipped break room featuring a mini market, contributing to a comfortable and convenient workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Forks, ND.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
