We are looking for an Early Retirement Benefits Specialist to support retirement and leave-related benefits administration for an education-focused organization in Boston, Massachusetts. This Contract position will play a key role in guiding employees through benefit processes, reviewing eligibility, and helping ensure accurate coordination of retirement, leave, and related programs. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, practical knowledge of benefits operations, and a service-oriented approach to resolving employee questions and maintaining compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Administer early retirement and related benefit programs by reviewing participant information, confirming eligibility, and ensuring timely processing of benefit actions.
• Coordinate benefits activities across retirement, leave, and compensation-related programs to support accurate enrollment, updates, and employee communications.
• Analyze benefit data and documentation to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and maintain dependable records for reporting and administration.
• Serve as a point of contact for employees and internal stakeholders by answering questions about retirement options, benefit coverage, and leave-related matters including FMLA.
• Partner with HR, payroll, and other relevant teams to ensure benefit transactions are aligned with compensation details and organizational policies.
• Prepare and maintain reports, files, and supporting documentation to help monitor program activity, compliance requirements, and case status.
• Review benefit procedures and recommend process improvements that strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.
• Support special projects and operational updates related to benefits administration, including changes to workflows, documentation, or systems when needed.• Experience working in benefits administration, benefits coordination, or compensation and benefits support.
• Working knowledge of retirement-related benefit processes and employee leave administration, including FMLA.
• Ability to evaluate benefit information carefully and apply strong benefits analysis skills to resolve issues accurately.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefit topics clearly and professionally.
• Proficiency in managing sensitive employee information with discretion and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to coordinate multiple cases, deadlines, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting employees or stakeholders in an education, public sector, or similarly regulated environment is preferred.
