About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Sr. Controls Specialist to support and improve plant controls, automation, and electrical systems. This role will work alongside another controls professional and support PLCs, HMIs, controls networks, instrumentation, equipment upgrades, and plant projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and support plant controls, automation, and electrical systems
• Program and maintain PLC and HMI systems, including Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms
• Support ControlLogix, SLC 500, FactoryTalk View, VFDs, instrumentation, and controls networks
• Develop and maintain controls specifications, schematics, standards, and documentation
• Identify improvements to equipment reliability, process stability, and manufacturing efficiency
• Support controls and electrical projects, equipment upgrades, and plant expansions
• Coordinate vendors and contractors and provide technical guidance to plant leadership
• Support capital projects, budgets, schedules, and implementation
• Maintain compliance with GMP, food safety, quality, OSHA, FDA, and USDA requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, or related field; equivalent education and experience considered
• 5-8 years of technical experience in food manufacturing, dairy preferred, or a related industrial environment
• Current hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting experience required
• Experience with ControlLogix, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley systems, and HMI programming
• Knowledge of FactoryTalk View, SLC 500, VFDs/VSDs, instrumentation, controls networks, and electrical equipment
• Ability to read electrical schematics, one-line drawings, and technical documentation
• Experience with plant projects, equipment installations, construction, or expansion
• Project management experience, including vendor and contractor coordination
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, planning, and communication skills
• Ability to travel approximately 5%-15%
