Job Summary

The Dock Truck Driver transports materials, inventory, and other items between Kendall Howard facilities and local vendor locations, with most trips taking place within approximately one hour of our facilities. This role also handles occasional courier requests and supports safe, accurate loading, delivery, and receipt of goods.

Essential Duties

• Drive company vehicles on scheduled local routes between company facilities, vendor locations, and other nearby destinations. 
• Pick up, deliver, and transfer inventory, parts, supplies, documents, and other business materials as needed.
• Verify items and quantities against transfer documents, packing slips, or other records before departure and upon delivery.
• Secure loads properly and handle materials to prevent damage during transport. 
• Assist with loading and unloading using approved equipment and safe material-handling practices. 
• Communicate with warehouse, production, purchasing, and vendor contacts about pickups, deliveries, delays, and discrepancies. 
• Complete delivery records, transfer paperwork, vehicle logs, and other required documentation accurately and on time. 
• Inspect the assigned vehicle before use, report maintenance or safety concerns, and keep the vehicle and cargo area clean and organized. 
• Follow traffic laws, company driving procedures, site safety rules, and applicable transportation requirements. 
• Assist with dock or warehouse activities between deliveries, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle assigned; a CDL is not required for this position.
• Driving record that meets company standards for safe operation and insurability.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT health card).
• Ability to safely operate a delivery or dock truck and maneuver at loading docks, vendor sites, and company facilities.
• Ability to read delivery instructions, verify quantities, and complete basic written or electronic records.
• Ability to load, unload, and move materials safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Dependable attendance, sound judgment, and the ability to manage local routes and delivery priorities with limited supervision.
