Location: Washington, DC area (worksite in California, MD) (Hybrid)
Shift/Schedule: Full-time, hybrid schedule with regular onsite days
Pay/Compensation: $90,220 – $145,000 per year

About the Role
An established engineering and technology services firm supporting defense programs is hiring a Senior Software Developer. This developer will design and build mission software used by government customers, working across the full development lifecycle. The company offers stable long-term programs, technical ownership, and a hybrid schedule.

The ideal candidate is a well-rounded developer who enjoys owning features from requirements through release and supporting mission-critical government customers. You write maintainable code, communicate clearly with engineers and stakeholders, and take pride in helping junior teammates grow. Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software applications supporting defense customers
• Translate customer requirements into technical designs and working features
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in peer code reviews
• Integrate software with databases, services, and external systems
• Troubleshoot defects and improve performance and reliability
• Document designs, interfaces, and release procedures
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to team best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field
• Several years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in languages such as C#, Java, Python, or C++
• Experience with relational databases and web application development
• Familiarity with Agile methods and version control such as Git
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DoD security clearance
• Experience supporting Navy or other DoD programs
• Cloud, container, or DevSecOps experience
• Front-end framework experience such as Angular or React
• Security+ or similar DoD 8570 certification
