Job Description
We are seeking a Chemist to join our product development and manufacturing team. This role will support the development, testing, optimization, and quality assurance of protein powder and powdered nutritional products throughout the entire product lifecycle, from formulation and scale-up to production and final packaging. The ideal candidate will have experience in food, nutrition, dietary supplements, powders, or consumer packaged goods manufacturing and enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize protein powder formulations to meet product performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct laboratory testing and analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
Support new product development initiatives, including ingredient evaluation, formulation adjustments, and product validation.
Partner with Operations, Quality, R&D, and Packaging teams to scale products from bench-top development to commercial manufacturing.
Investigate product quality issues and identify root causes through analytical testing and process evaluation.
Maintain detailed records of formulations, testing protocols, specifications, and results.
Assist with stability studies, shelf-life testing, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with GMP, food safety, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Support supplier qualification activities and evaluate ingredient performance and consistency.
Participate in process validation and manufacturing troubleshooting efforts.
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
2+ years of experience in product development, laboratory testing, quality, or manufacturing environments.
Experience with dietary supplements, sports nutrition products, food ingredients, protein powders, or powdered consumer products preferred.
Understanding of analytical testing methods and laboratory equipment.
Knowledge of cGMP, FDA regulations, food safety standards, or quality systems is highly desirable.
