Sr. Agentic AI Developer

Midland Scientific is growing! And we’re looking for a Senior Agentic AI Developer who can help us scale that growth without simply adding more people to every process. This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced AI Developer who wants to move beyond experimenting with AI and actually put it to work inside a growing business.

You’ll work directly with leaders and employees across MSI to identify opportunities, build solutions, automate processes, and create AI-powered tools that make work faster, smarter, and easier. Your work could impact everything from Order Processing and Purchasing to Accounting, Customer Service, and Operations.

What You’ll Do:

• Identify opportunities where AI, automation, and technology can eliminate manual work and improve business processes.
• Partner directly with department leaders and employees to understand challenges, uncover opportunities, and define requirements.
• Design, develop, test, implement, and support AI-powered solutions, applications, automations, and integrations.
• Build and implement agentic AI solutions that can perform multi-step tasks, interact with business systems, and help employees accomplish more.
• Leverage Microsoft technologies including Copilot, Azure AI, Power Platform, and related tools, along with other technologies when they provide the right solution.
• Develop APIs, integrations, workflows, and custom applications that connect people, systems, data, and AI.
• Work with databases, enterprise systems, and business data to develop practical solutions.
• Build proof-of-concepts quickly, evaluate results, and move successful solutions into production.
• Help automate repetitive and time-consuming processes across the organization.
• Monitor, improve, and maintain AI solutions after implementation.
• Measure the business impact and ROI of solutions you develop.
• Establish practical development and AI automation standards as Midland's capabilities grow.
• Train and mentor other members of the IT team on AI technologies, development practices, and automation.
• Stay current on emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities where new capabilities could create value for Midland.
• Challenge the status quo and ask, "Is there a better way to do this?"

Requirements:

We're looking for someone who has already built things—not someone looking for their first opportunity to learn software development or AI. In addition, this position is an In-Office role at our headquarters location in LaVista, NE.

Required experience includes:

• Professional experience developing and implementing AI-powered solutions and business applications.
• Hands-on experience with agentic AI and AI automation.
• Experience with Microsoft AI technologies, including:
  • Microsoft Copilot
  • Azure AI
  • Microsoft Power Platform
  • Power Automate
  • Related Microsoft AI and automation technologies
• Strong development experience with:
  • Python
  • PHP
  • Vue.js
  • APIs and integrations
  • SQL and relational databases
• Experience developing business applications, workflows, automations, and system integrations.
• Experience working directly with business users to gather requirements and translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Experience taking projects from concept or proof-of-concept through implementation.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of projects from start to finish.
