Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30 AM-3:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a dependable and experienced Anesthesia Technician to support a leading healthcare organization in San Antonio, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Anesthesia Technician looking to work in a fast-paced surgical environment and support anesthesia providers throughout the surgical process.

Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesia providers before, during, and after surgical procedures in an ASC setting.

   

• Prepare, check, maintain, and stock anesthesia equipment, supplies, machines, and carts.

   

• Anticipate anesthesia providers' needs by ensuring necessary supplies, monitoring equipment, and anesthesia delivery systems are readily available.

   

• Support the operating room with equipment, supplies, and other requests during surgical procedures.

   

• Assist anesthesia providers during intubation and extubation procedures.

   

• Review current and upcoming surgical schedules to ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are available for each case.

   

• Transport and set up equipment, including laryngoscope blades, monitors, EKG cables, ETCO2 lines, pulse oximetry cables, temperature cables, and oxygen tanks/tubing.

   

• Ensure equipment is properly decontaminated, maintained, and in good working condition before procedures.

   

• Assist with preoperative and intraoperative patient positioning under appropriate supervision.

   

• Consistently follow aseptic technique when preparing supplies and equipment.

   

• Facilitate operating room turnover between cases and assist with housekeeping functions as directed.

   

• Provide support to the surgical team to promote smooth coordination of patient care.

   

• Maintain knowledge and skills while adapting to changing priorities and unexpected situations.

   

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

   

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

   

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a hospital or ASC setting.

   

• BLS - Basic Life Support required upon hire.

   

• Knowledge of anesthesia equipment, supplies, and operating room procedures.

   

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

   

• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

   

• Ability to anticipate needs, prioritize tasks, and respond effectively to changing situations.

   

• Ability to follow safety, infection prevention, and aseptic technique standards.

   

• Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
