Ultrasound Technologist

Location: Manhattan, NY
Duration: 9 weeks
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:00 PM; Saturday until 4:00 PM

Job Description

The Ultrasound Technologist performs and assists with ultrasound examinations, provides technical support to Radiologists, and maintains ultrasound equipment to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and examine patients for ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental procedures and techniques.
• Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment while following appropriate safety precautions to protect patients and staff from electrical and other hazards.
• Set up, operate, clean, and perform minor adjustments to ultrasound equipment.
• Ensure adequate supplies are available for examinations and daily operations.
• Assist with orienting and mentoring new Ultrasound Technologists.
• Capture ultrasound images into PACS and transfer images to physicians' workstations.
• Answer telephone calls and assist with scheduling examinations.
• Initiate or coordinate patient transportation when required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
• Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook.
• Knowledge of office and administrative practices.
• Strong computer and software skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and make sound decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion.

Education

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography technical training program.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• ARDMS – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• BLS – Basic Life Support
