Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of young learners by supporting students with mild to moderate special needs in a vibrant school setting. Two full-time contract opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers to work with early elementary (K-2) and elementary (K-5th) caseloads. These positions start as soon as possible and extend through the end of the school year. The role is based near Fremont, CA, with work taking place in San Mateo, CA.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid and active California Special Education Teaching Credential with a mild/moderate authorization
- Experience providing instruction and support for students in grades K-2 or K-5
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other educators, specialists, and families
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction in accordance with students’ IEPs and district guidelines
- Assess student needs, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings
- Adapt curriculum and classroom environment to best support diverse learning needs
- Work closely with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Foster an inclusive and supportive climate that encourages student growth and engagement
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations
