Job Description
Seeking dedicated special education professionals passionate about making a difference for students with extensive support needs. Opportunities are currently available to serve across multiple school sites within Merced County, providing essential instruction to K-12 students in ESN (Extensive Support Needs) programs. This contract position offers an immediate start through the end of the school year, with weekly work hours between 35 and 37.5.
This is an excellent chance to collaborate with skilled teams in multiple educational settings, with several openings available to match your grade-level preference. You will work closely with school staff and families to implement individualized education plans, foster an inclusive learning environment, and support students’ social, behavioral, and academic development.
Qualifications:
- Active California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist credential required
- Experience supporting students in ESN or similar settings preferred
- Understanding of IEP processes and compliance
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to evidence-based, student-centered instructional strategies
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct specialized instruction to students with extensive support needs
- Adapt lessons and curriculum materials to meet diverse learning requirements
- Collaborate with general educators, therapists, and families on IEP implementation
- Collect data and monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed
- Foster a safe, engaging, and accepting classroom environment
- Attend IEP meetings and professional development sessions as required
