Job Description
Step into a rewarding role supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher working with Resource Specialist Program (RSP) caseloads. Located near San Mateo, CA, this full-time, contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact during the current school year (ASAP – EOSY). Two openings are available, giving you an opportunity to partner with colleagues and foster inclusive learning.
In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality instruction for students with mild to moderate needs, collaborating closely with school teams and families to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum. You’ll play a vital part in helping each student reach their full potential and thrive academically and socially.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Current and active California credential for mild/moderate special education (REQUIRED)
- Experience with middle school and RSP caseloads strongly preferred
- Proven ability to craft and implement IEPs effectively
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Positive, flexible attitude and a passion for supporting diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage two middle school RSP caseloads; deliver instruction and oversee student progress
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Adapt curriculum and assessments to support individual learning needs
- Engage in collaborative teaming with general educators, support staff, and families
- Maintain thorough documentation and participation in IEP meetings
