Job Description

Empower high school students to reach their graduation goals by providing specialized academic and behavioral support in an Alternative Learning Center environment. This contract position calls for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work part-time across the full school year, offering both onsite and blended instruction to learners with diverse needs. You'll play a pivotal role in fostering a supportive, growth-oriented atmosphere where each student can thrive.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (accepted endorsements: ABS, EBD, LD, or related MN SPED)
  • Previous experience teaching in special education, particularly at the high school level, is preferred
  • Familiarity with alternative learning settings or a passion for helping students facing unique challenges
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with families, school support staff, and colleagues
  • Commitment to individualized instruction, data-driven interventions, and progress monitoring

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver effective instruction and interventions in a blended/onsite alternative setting
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitor and document student progress toward educational and behavioral objectives
  • Collaborate with the ALC team, counselors, and specialists to support graduation pathways
  • Engage regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and needs
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment

This opportunity offers the flexibility of a part-time schedule, approximately 18.75 to 20 hours per week, balancing your professional and personal commitments while making a meaningful impact over the complete school year.

If you are passionate about supporting students in alternative high school settings and hold a current Minnesota special education teaching license, you are encouraged to apply. Submit your current resume and verified references today—make a difference where it matters most.

Compensation for this position ranges from $26.78 to $48.78. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
